CHAPTER 12

After a long, lustful night at the Telly, we all went to Scotty’s Diner and then me and D-Slug dropped Laneisha and Mia off on The Ave. Once they got out and I closed the door I remembered the plan that I had and called Laneisha back to the car. “Oh yeah. Neisha Boo, make some calls this morning and see if they renting out one of those apartments in the building on the corner. If they is, get fiend Butch and tell him I said get it. Pay him whatever he wants to handle that,” I said as I pulled out some money and counted out $5,500 in all hundred dollar bills. “I got something to handle. So I need you to take care of this for me. Aight?” I asked and stuck my hand out of the window with the money in it.

Mia’s eyes got big and she was speechless, but Laneisha acted like I only asked her to get me something to drink and was handing her my cup.

“Yeah, Jakill, I got you,” Laneisha replied and put the money inside of her purse. “Are you trying to be close to me?” she asked and giggled.

“Closer than you think, sexy. This is for us. I’m coppin us a spot together if that’s cool with you.”

“You know that’s cool with me, Jakill,” she said then quickly leaned her head in the window and gave me a long passionate kiss.

When Laneisha pulled her head back out of the window I continued, “Tell Butch to offer them a couple hunnit extra if they can speed us through the process and get the spot today. If we get it, cop a lil bit of furniture and have them deliver it.”

She was still smiling ear to ear. “I can’t believe that you’re doing this, Jakill. I’ll have something special for you tonight,” Laneisha said.

“Can’t baby. I’m goin out of town till Monday. That’s why I need you to take care of this for us. But can I get something special when I get back?” I asked and reached out and put my hand on her small bubble.

Instead of Laneisha taking my hand off of her ass like I thought that she would, she placed her hand on top of my hand and made me squeeze it.

“Baby, you can get something special anytime that you want it,” she replied seductively.

D-Slug cleared his throat. “Can yall please stop now? My ears are hurtin,” he joked.

Mia sucked her teeth.

“I’m a holla at you when I get back cause I’m a be busy makin moves all weekend. Aight?” I asked, hoping that my cover worked.

“As long as you’re thinking about me the whole time,” Laneisha replied then leaned back into the window and gave me a quick peck on my cheek.

Mia was standing there looking at D-Slug like she expected an apartment or something too.

D-Slug peeped it and couldn’t just ignore her, so he said, “Mia, I’m a have something for you too in a minute.” Then he pushed the pedal all of the way down to the floor and we smashed off.
